It is so hard to believe that we have already entered in the last month of 2022, but what is even crazier is realizing that I’ve now come within a few weeks of finishing my first official full year at Catina & Mara, PLLC!
While on our team call the other day, Laura & Amy asked me very candidly how I thought my first year had gone so far. And it didn’t take but a minute for me to respond.
2022 has, undoubtedly, been such an amazing year for both personal and professional growth for me and, I think Laura & Amy would agree, for our firm. My coming aboard was very fluid in that we all worked together previously and that I was already very familiar with the expectation as the firm’s paralegal and office manager. I was able to take many of the day-to-day tasks on myself freeing Laura and Amy up for their caseloads. I quickly became the voice of the firm (and if you don’t believe me, give us a call!) and I absolutely know it’s cliché, but being back doing what I have always loved to do, this year hasn’t felt like work.
I think the most pivotal moments for me this year were the two not previously scheduled phone calls from Laura and Amy with exciting news for our firm – we were moving forward with acquiring an office in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey and we were welcoming Alejandra to our team – and when the tables were turned and I surprised them with the phone call that our firm was selected as the grand-prize winner of RingCentral’s small business week contest. These bundles of excitement were celebrated together and to be witness to their dreams of growing our firm and breaking the stigma of a traditional law firm coming to life!
We’ve had so much and so many to be so grateful for. We’ve had the unwavering support of our biggest cheerleaders – our families. We’ve met so many new clients, colleagues, brokers, and members of the legal community in this past year. We’ve been witness to the excitement of the dozens of new home purchases and so many bittersweet moments of others leaving one that’s been theirs for decades. We’ve given closure to clients who have been engaged in litigation and solace to others when our firm has been there to answer a request for help. We’ve certainly learned a lot about ourselves because of who we’ve met along the way.
The question is – who will we all be in 2023?
Here’s to an amazing first year at Catina & Mara, PLLC and many more! Wishing you all a very happy and healthy holiday season and a brilliant 2023!
