I am excited to have the opportunity to share a bit more about myself here on our insights page. I have been practicing law for 7.5 years. As Laura mentioned in her post, she and I have been working together for more than 11 years. Before graduating law school and passing the Bar, I had the privilege of being a legal intern and law secretary for a boutique litigation firm in Rockland County, New York, where Laura was an associate attorney. At the time, I could not have comprehended the magnitude of that privilege of learning and understanding the ins and outs of a litigation practice from the support level – the ground level. I began my career preparing closing statements for real property transactions, filing and organizing legal documents in redwells, and assembling motion papers right before the filing deadlines, papers and Acco clips strewn everywhere. I progressed to drafting enclosure letters, formatting discovery demands and pleadings, and tackling research projects for the attorneys. I learned how to electronically file court documents in various jurisdictions, and I assisted in the day-to-day secretarial roles of answering the phones and making copies. I mention all of this because I wholeheartedly believe that my early experiences in the legal profession have proven valuable to me, as an attorney and business owner now, and to my clients. Those early experiences shaped me into an attorney who will do the tasks necessary to achieve the desired result and who is resourceful in the practical aspects of law firm operations.
I am admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. My practice focus continues to be business litigation, real property litigation, and counseling business owners and multi-dimensional entrepreneurs on business disputes and transactional matters. More recently, I have expanded my practice to include real property transactions as well.
In becoming partners with Laura and running our own practice, I can confidently say that one of the most rewarding aspects to practicing law is the relationships we aim to build and enjoy with our clients. I value open, honest communication with my clients and ensuring that, when we hang up the telephone or end our email exchange, my clients understand where we are, what our next step is, and how we are going to achieve it together, as a team.
Thank you for taking a moment to learn a bit more about me, and I hope to continue to share valuable information here for you and your legal needs!
